Ole Db Data Adapter Dim sql As String Private Sub Add Record_Load(By Val sender As System.

Tables("EGIDB") End Sub Private Sub chkconfirm_Checked Changed(By Val sender As System.

Can I put Contact Last Name is my where clause like string str = "UPDATE Customers SET Contact First Name = ?

updating is usually done with a primary key and in your case the customer-id is what you will need for updates.

Basically I'm using an MS Access database to store information on a movie collection, however I do NOT want to use the crappy controls microsoft has for populating and navigating databases, namely MS ACCESS ones (the controls that have the pre-made toolbar and the save crap). Here is a screenshot of what it looks like (don't judge me on the movies, it's not my movie collection I'm doing this for a project for my friend): what I have it do so far, is when you click on a record in the Data Grid View, it populates the form below and further on allows for editing and updating. My problem: I have no clue how to make the update buttons to update the record selected / presented in the fields.

But the new ACE library (which is also a free download[^]) used since Office 2010(2007?

), has been, and it can read/write both MDB files and the newer ACCDB files.

If you're familiar with Table Adapters, you can jump directly to one of these topics: Updating a data source is a two-step process.

The first step is to update the dataset with new records, changed records, or deleted records.
